SANDBOX THERAPY GROUP OFFERS

Diagnostic Screenings

Just as a sandbox invites open-ended exploration, our screenings are designed to be a collaborative and dynamic process. We don’t just look for milestones; we seek to understand the unique story of each person’s developmental differences and accelerations. Our screenings are more than just a brief evaluation; they’re an opportunity to celebrate each person’s individual growth path as well as goals and journey in life. We blend our expertise with a person-centered approach, ensuring that the process is not only informative but also engaging, enlightening, and (hopefully) enjoyable. By viewing each person as an expert in their own experience, we create a space where learning and understanding flourish naturally. Our diagnostic screenings are tailored to uncover the distinct needs and strengths of each person, guiding individuals (and families) with insight and care on their current as well as future journey and goals.

PERSON-CENTERED SCREENINGS

Diagnostic Screenings

If you are curious about whether or not you or someone you love has neurodiversity (developmental differences) but doesn’t know where to start, or may be experiencing a higher level of care to improve their quality of life yet unsure where to turn to, going through our diagnostic screening process may help you! These screenings can help you sift through and answer some of the big questions you are afraid to ask or unsure of where to go to get the help needed to thrive! Our screenings require you to complete some preliminary paperwork to be entered into our system, take a test or two (depending upon the concerns discussed), and a 15-minute feedback session with results and recommendations.

Screenings for (not limited to): ADHD, Autism, Learning Differences (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Mood (Depression, Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder), Behavior (School Expulsions, Mood Swings)

Psychological Screenings

ADHD Screening

At Sandbox Therapy Group, our ADHD screening is a detailed process involving standardized questionnaires, behavioral observations, and, if needed, cognitive testing. We assess attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, comparing these behaviors to developmental norms. Our screenings are tailored and adaptive, respecting the individuality of each client and focusing on their unique patterns and strengths in a supportive, engaging environment.

Autism Screening

Our autism screening involves a combination of observational assessments, structured interviews, and interaction evaluations, focusing on social communication, behavioral patterns, and developmental milestones. Recognizing the uniqueness of each individual on the autism spectrum, we conduct our screenings in a flexible, playful manner, aligning with our ethos of creating a nurturing and creative space for understanding and growth.

Learning Differences (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia)

For learning differences like Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, our screenings include standardized tests that evaluate reading, writing, and mathematical abilities, along with assessments of cognitive processing and memory. We provide a comfortable, engaging setting that encourages each individual to showcase their learning style, aiding in the development of personalized educational strategies.

Mood (Depression, Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder)

Our mood disorder screenings involve clinical interviews, symptom checklists, and, when appropriate, psychological testing. We explore areas like emotional regulation, mood stability, and behavioral patterns. Our approach is empathetic and non-judgmental, emphasizing the creation of a safe space where clients can express themselves freely and receive tailored care.

Behavior (School Expulsions, Mood Swings)

The behavioral screenings for issues like school expulsions and mood swings consist of behavioral assessments, interviews with parents or caregivers, and observations in different settings. We seek to understand environmental influences, emotional triggers, and coping mechanisms. This comprehensive view allows us to create effective strategies that resonate with our philosophy of innovative, client-focused care.
