Amina Chinnell-Mateen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Colorado Christian University. As a therapist, Amina has had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients including children, adults, families, and couples working through anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional regulation issues. Her experiences also expand working with clients with co-occurring diagnosis and substance use issues.
Her goal as a therapist is to meet clients where they are and work to develop a sound and safe relationship where they can feel supported as they work through critical moments in their lives. Amina uses a person-centered approach with clients as a way to show compassion and respect to everyone she works with. She believes this to be a way to strengthen and build the therapeutic relationship. In her spare time she spends evenings outdoors, write poetry, competes in poetry slam, and enjoys funny TV shows.
