Therapy can seem daunting at first. The idea of giving away your deepest darkest secrets to someone you don’t know can be a scary thought. Life can be difficult, especially when you are trying to navigate through everything by yourself. It can make you feel lost, hopeless, or alone–this is where therapy comes in. My goal as a therapist is to work with you and help you navigate through some of your challenges together as a team in a safe and comfortable environment.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and I work at Sandbox as a psychometrist and psychotherapist intern, providing psychological assessments and individual therapy services. My counseling style is based on humanistic principles–that you, the client, are the expert of your own life, and I am here to work and collaborate with you towards a goal together. I also strongly believe in the importance of taking one’s culture and values into account, and work hard to ensure that your beliefs and values are heard and respected.
The idea of reaching out to a therapist can definitely be tough, and sometimes, it can even feel embarrassing. But just like you see a medical doctor for your physical wounds and illnesses, seeing a therapist is like seeing a doctor for your heart and mind. I understand that finding the right match can be very important to your journey, so I encourage you to reach out if you have any questions, or even if you are just hesitant. I look forward to hearing from you!
