Brittany completed her Master of Science degree through Capella University in 2017, and is currently an intern working toward completing her Doctor of Psychology degree, Psy.D, through Capella University. Her previous practicum (field/job experience) was working with a range of clients of all ages, with varying goals and diagnoses, in a community health setting where she used mostly behavioral interventions.
Brittany puts her client’s needs first and meets them where they are at, meaning, she does not push her agenda on them. She moves at their pace and follows their lead, unless of course there are dangers or other concerning behaviors that take priority. To help her clients change their behavioral patterns, Brittany fully accepts her clients for who they are and what they believe in, she listens closely and appreciates their values and interests in life. She also believes that building a strong relationship is one of the most important pieces to creating change. Some of Brittany’s preferred and most used forms of therapies include (but are not limited to): Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Brittany spends most of her free time with her husband and son. She also has a young horse, Zelda, that she spends time with. Her other interests include; video games, anime shows, painting, board games, animals, television in science fiction and fantasy genres, and learning how to sing.
