Dr. Jeremy (Jay) Davis has worked with school-age youth for over 30 years. After completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology, he worked for four years with special needs Navajo students in northern Arizona. He then worked for 28 years as a School Psychologist in Texas and Oregon, continuing to provide assessments and treatment for students, and working together with parents and teachers. Along the way, Jay continued his education and training, completing a doctorate in Educational Psychology and licensure as a Psychologist.
In therapy, Jay emphasizes establishing an open and respectful relationship in a safe and accepting setting. He draws from a variety of orientations and methods, knowing that what works well for one person and situation may not be as effective in others. The approaches Jay incorporates in his work include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Parent Counseling, Play Therapy, Mindfulness training, Psychoeducation, and other self-empowering methods.
Jay moved to Washington in 2015 to be closer to family. For fun, he plays bass guitar and spends time with his grandchildren.
