Lauren E. Harrison is a licensed mental health counselor associate and a registered dance/movement therapist. Before earning her Master’s degree from Antioch University New England, Lauren was an educator, mentor and teaching artist for nearly fifteen years. Always grounded in the mind/body connection, Lauren has worked in schools, nonprofit organizations, privately owned businesses, community health clinics and hospitals. Her experience includes working with children (ages 3-12), adolescents, and adults, including people with neuro developmental differences and various special needs. As a clinician, Lauren has worked with individuals in acute psychiatric crisis, people experiencing chronic mental illness and folks encountering various social and emotional challenges. Lauren attunes to the shifting needs of her clients to establish, develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship based on safety, trust and empathy. She views therapy as an opportunity to discover, practice and learn healthy ways of behaving, coping and relating. Lauren is passionate about and skilled in incorporating play and the creative arts into her therapeutic approach.
