Rene Tobin

Background
My name is Rene. I believe that individual change takes place in a safe and supportive relationship. Together we can work to achieve the lasting changes you want. For me, one of the most rewarding experiences personally, and at work, is witnessing others meet their goals and find ways to thrive. Every person has the potential to be happy and have healthy relationships. You deserve to live your best life, let me join you to get there!
I attended Eastern Washington University and there I earned a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology and a minor in Chemical Dependency. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Substance Use Disorder Professional. I enjoy working with diverse individuals, groups, couples and families across the lifespan. I bring a secular, down to earth, perspective to the counseling relationship. Respecting your values and objectives is my honor and obligation. Whether you just need one session to help work out your approach to an immediate problem or your goal is personal transformation over time, I am here to help you find success as defined by you.
My approach is primarily humanistic: your values, goals and needs are, of course, the focus, and your reason for seeking therapy. I bring extensive knowledge and skill in behavioral interventions to help you meet those goals. Motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and art therapy are a few of the specific modalities I may use. I am comfortable working through a broad variety of challenges individuals bring to counseling. If you have questions about whether we would be a good fit I welcome you to reach out. I look forward to working with you!
